Our talent radar moves again to the north of Spain, more precisely the Asturian techno reservation. Hailing from Oviedo, Hugo Rolán has been exposed to electronic music since his teenage years working at the infamous club La Real. There his mind was impacted directly with the pure vibes coming from the UK, Detroit and Europe.

On the musical side, he has been DJing since forever and over the past fifteen years has developed his sound in the studio, quietly, without stress, training his skills with music production tools until the time was right.

And what a better time to start his release output than a la label like Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up Recordings with a complete album called Origen Cero in 2022. Soon after he released another complete album, Futuristic Technology, on Jeff Mills’s Axis Records. An impressive debut in the scene.

We’ve been aware of his skills and sound and earlier this year asked him for some tracks, now it’s time to unveil them. Tiempo Inverso comprises five exercises of precise and scientific techno, starting with the beatless intro "Exploración Dinámica", the ideal start of this voyage into the unknown.

"Concepto Dictatorial" follows, introducing the continuous and hypnotic beat spiced with shuffled percussive elements, hi pitched drones and obsessive bleeps.

"Control Injustificado" keeps the beat going, this time more dreamy and profound an ode to non gravity.

"Vocabulario Experimental" is another bleep galore, growing in intensity as the bars go on, perfect for dreaming on the dancefloor.

"Imprecisión Calculada" quits the space travel, keeping things busy rhythm wise, retaining the melancholic vibe on top, in its own intelligent approach to techno.
